Our self-imposed demand for excellence requires a highly-capable and close-knit development team supported by our company culture. This team is almost entirely remote, spanning countries, regions and time zones and needs to be highly adaptable in attitude, skills and capabilities.
As a small business, we’re experiencing rapid growth, which places demands on the entire team. Part of this growth is an evolution of the technologies we’re using and a changing shape to the team with skills and roles not previously part of the business, and this is where Transparent comes in.

For two years, our requirements have been:
Find more front-end developers – Not only hard to find roles, but we needed React developers – something we’d not hired previously and required Transparent’s support to effectively evaluate the candidates.
Implement a QA team – previously, testing was conducted by the developers, the technology leadership and the product experience team. With Transparent’s help, we formulated a strategy for our QA, which they evaluated candidates against and ultimately filled the roles.
Deploy an Agile development team – to manage our growing technology team, we needed to implement a defined agile development approach (scrum) and implement a scrum team. Limited experience with this methodology and no experience with the skills required meant we needed support in evaluating and onboarding suitable candidates and ensuring a fit for our management requirements and our culture.
For each of the requirements above, we spent time with the Transparent team briefing them extensively on our needs; as we all know, “garbage in, garbage out”, so it’s worth spending this prep time to ensure all parties fully understand the brief. Because we’ve worked almost exclusively with Transparent over the years, they know our business, culture and technology. This allows them to conduct high-quality identification work on possible candidates and screen out any that are not within 5% of our requirements; this saves us considerable time and operational effort. Their online candidate management platform also helps evaluate candidates quickly and allows us to manage the candidate process efficiently.
As a result, we’ve been able to reduce our recruitment process, in most cases, to just three steps with a high degree of success, once again allowing us to save operational/recruitment efforts.
